Whether you want to reach the world, or improve the reach in your corner of it, we can help.
There’s a revolution going on. Is your business ready for it, or does it feel like you’re missing out? The Internet has changed the scope and potential of marketing. Marketing strategies that used to be relevant in traditional media like television, print, and radio are simply not getting the reach and return. Nor can they compete with the Internet. With Internet marketing you now have the opportunity for a two way, ongoing dialog with your customers. You have a wealth of tools at your disposal to build brand awareness and market your product. The question is, do you know how to use them?
How to maximize your existing database with email marketing
You know how much time is involved in building an email database, and you know that the integrity and purity of that database is a key component of your overall sales health. Certainly it’s important to grow that database, but focusing on the existing one is important too. If your customers are passionate enough about your product to allow you email access to them, then you have the opportunity to build a lucrative relationship with that customer base. And you’ve already won them once, or else you wouldn’t have them in your database to begin with. Here are some tips to generate sales:
• Touch your database on a regular basis. It’s a basic rule of sales – it takes ten prospects to generate one sale. And with email campaigns, it typically takes multiple contacts to convert that email address into a purchase – sometimes as many as seven contacts.
• Follow up and follow through. Once you have generated response via your email campaign, don’t assume the customer will take the final steps to complete the transaction. When an email campaign generates a serious lead, pick up the phone and add a human touch to seal the deal.
• Keep a calendar of holidays and birthdays. A well written email campaign that’s creative and sincere and timed around significant holidays will build goodwill. And when you’re able to customize a birthday message for your database respondents, you’re bringing another humanizing element to the online experience.
• If you’re going to run a special promotion, make sure it’s a legitimate value to the customer. An offer that asks your customer to spend $100 in order to save $2 may not be as enticing as an offer of free shipping with every order over a set amount. Remember, what may seem like a great value to you may seem like a lot of hype to your customers. And if your promotions aren’t offering significant value, your email will end up in someone’s spam folder.
• Use graphics with care. Too much flash can make your email slow to load for some users. And with smartphones and the mobile web gaining in popularity, it’s important to think about how your email message is going to translate to the small screen. Before you send out that mass campaign, test the email on yourself or on other close associates and compare notes.
